Engineering – urban and rural roads (1 position) Head office
1. General Job
purpose:
Reporting to the principal Engineer- Urban and rural Roads,
the Engineer Urban and rural Roads will be responsible for assisting the local
road Authorities in the planning of their road of their road network
programmers.
2. Key
Responsibilities and result area
. Assist in the of road construction projection of all kinds
in partnership with local authorities
. Assist in the creation of plans for road construction
project
. Assist developing plans to address transport problems by
expanding existing roads and creating new roads.
. Study the goal of the road construction project, and make
sure that the design supports the goals;
. Assist in designing streets that can create connected
physical, social and transports network that promote real alternatives to car
journeys, namely walking cycling or public transport
. Assist in designing of the street environment and street network
as whole- street design should be more effective in cost and efficiency
. Seek to encourage designs appropriate to context,
character and location and that can be used safely and enjoyably by the public
. Prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports for management
decisions
3. Academic and
Professional Requirements
. A Bachelor Degree in civil Engineering;
. Registered member of the Engineering institution of Zambia
. Ability to
multitask
. Must have a
dynamic, pro- active approach with excellent communication skills
. Must be computer Literate
