The daily nation newspaper Limited is inviting applications
from suitably qualified Zambians to fill the position of Procurement Officer to
provide procurement expertise and assist stakeholders to plan, develop, source,
and manage procurement arrangement to effectively meet organizational
objectives.
Duties and
Requirements
. In charge of daily operational purchasing needs of the organization
i.e. planning, issuing and following up on purchase
. Providing advice, information and guidance on procurement related
matters to staff in all departments to provide governance and support good
practice in procurement
. Maintain and update procurement records and generate
monthly reports on stocks and usage of materials
. In charge of monthly stock taking in liaison with Accounts
office, on the last day of each month
. Develop plans for purchasing equipment, services and
supplies
. Maintain and update list of suppliers and delivery times
. Ensure that products and suppliers are high quality
. Create and Maintain inventory of all incoming and current
supplies
. Create and maintain good relationships with vendors and
suppliers
. Undertake any other ad hoc duties as assigned
Requirements
. Grade twelve (12) certificate
. Diploma chartered Institute of purchasing and supply (MCIPS)
. Degree in purchasing and supply or related field will be
an added advantage
. At least four years work experience in similar position
. Member of the Zambia Institute of purchasing and supply
. Resourceful, self- driven, proactive with minimal
supervision
. Hard working and meticulous with positive attitude
. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
. Proficient in the use of MS office Applications
. Honesty and reliability
. Numeracy
