Managing Director
Job Summary
. The managing Director will be responsible for leading the
cross functional team in the country. Simplify the Unilever Zambia and south
DRC business structure, processes and standards in line with agreed operating
framework, Represent Unilever Zambia at regional/cluster leadership team
meetings. Responsible for governance, corporate social responsibility and contact
with Government and industry bodies; Develop local leadership and ensure
leadership within the Zambian and DRC Market; and install Unilever as a market
leader.
Your Profile
. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized
University
Job specific skills
Deliver the growth plan for Unilever Zambia;
. Create a high performing and integrated Market driven organization
in the country in line with principles of go to market organizational model and
benchmark targets; Deliver on Annual
plan for Unilever Zambia;
.Continuously improve Customer relations (profitability,
growth of share, loyalty, satisfaction, etc.);
Champion joint Business planning with key customers; Develop
Regional and Global Customers, based on shared Global and local P&L
responsibility to optimize footprint in these customers for total Unilever;
. Build and develop key talent; Champion the turnaround of
the country organization into a customer and shopper driven organization
. Lead pilots of new innovative channels/ways to get to
consumers and bring successful pilots to maturity; Represent the company external
in industry for a as agreed in regional context; and Lead Local Leadership team
in total company (cross-functional) operations.
Specific Unilever
Skills and Experience: Critical Success Factors
Preference shall be given to a candidate with;
. Five years (5) experience occupying at least two or three
leadership roles in Brand Building or Customer Development, (preferably in
both) across the unilever chains with emphasis on work in markets similar to
Zambia such as Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa
. At least five (5) years’ experience training and
understanding Unilever brand launching and driving Unilever regional category
strategies for Unilever global brands with specific preference for a candidate
that has worked with or experience with Unilever North America;
. Proven People management experience; Broad experience and
proven track record working in different market conditions with preference for
a candidate having worked
. Experience in launching brand new and range of fine foods
to effectively compete on the market; Experience in enhancing key innovation
projects for organizational country clusters by delivering activation/roll-out
packs involving channel marketing; and
. Experience in providing product training to sales
personnel, support for franchise contract tenders and direct interaction with
key customers;
