Position Title: I.T Officer- Application Support
Reporting to: Applications Support
Purpose of the Job
The Job holder is responsible for providing fist level Core
Banking and Applications support while ensuring maximum availability and uptime
of all systems
Duties
1. Ensuring that requests/ incidents are resolved within the
specified period the SLA and escalate issues accordingly.
2. Monitor user activity to ensure high availability of
services
3. Perform system EOD process and application of updates
4. Perform System and data backups in accordance with agreed
cycles and ensure that all tapes / storage media are appropriately stored per
Banks guidelines and standards
5 Ensure system reports, MIS reports and customer statements
are available to the branch network and head office departments
6. Ensure weekly, Monthly and yearly system maintenance
updates are performed
7. Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery
planning / recovery strategies
8. Conduct testing, implementation and sign-off of all
changes
9. ensuring all test systems are fully operational
10. Ensure all changes are tested in liaison with other
units in the Information technology department
11. Perform any lawful assignment given by Superiors.
EDUCATION AND
EXPERRIENCE
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/ Computer
Engineering/Information Technology/Information Systems
2. At least four (2) years post qualifying experience in the
ICT field in banking environment dealing with core banking applications support
3. In-depth Knowledge of Core banking systems will be an
added advantage
4. Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to
think logically
5. Ability to work independently and good team member
6. Good communication skills (verbal and Written
7. Proactive and a self-starter
