BANK SUPERVISION DEPARTMENT
SENIOR ANALYST – RESEARCH AND REGULATORY
POLICY (HO) (2 POSTS)
GRADE: BOZ 6
Job Purpose
Conduct research on financial sector related
issues and draft legislative, regulatory and supervisory policies for the
financial system to ensure that they remain current and relevant.
Main Accountabilities
- Develop concept papers and conduct research on emerging
issues in the financial sector to inform policy positions of the Bank;
- Review and analyse existing laws, regulations, policies
and procedures to determine their relevance, effectiveness and impact and
make proposed changes in line with developments in the market;
- Develop laws and regulatory frameworks aimed at
fostering a safe, sound, efficient and stable financial system;
- Develop financial sector policies in line with
international best practices in order to align the legal and regulatory
framework with current practices;
- Develop guidance notes to enhance the understanding of
the laws and regulations applicable to Financial Service Providers (FSPs)
and promote compliance; and
- Provide training to FSPs on matters relating to
regulatory aspects of the financial sector in order to enhance compliance
with laws and regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
- MSc/MA/MBA/LLM
- Grade 12 School Certificate with a minimum of five (5)
‘O’ Levels (Credit or better)
- 5 years’ relevant experience
Key Knowledge and Skills
- Good background in research and policy development
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good understanding of the risk based supervision
approach
- Good understanding of developments in the financial
sector
- Knowledge of financial sector laws and regulations
- Computer literacy
- Sound interpersonal skills
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Bank of Zambia Conditions of Service will
apply. Please note that the positions are on a Fixed Term Contracts of
Employment for three (3) years and renewable subject to good performance.
