Mopani Copper Mine Plc, a joint venture company comprising
major shareholders Glencore International AG, first Quantum Minerals Ltd and
Zccm Investment Holdings, Owns operations in Mufulira and Nkana on the
Copperbelt in Zambia. The Company’s success has been as a result of its focused

The Company seeks the services of the Services of an AUTOMATION SUPERINTENDENT.
Reporting to the project Lead_Synclinorium Concentrator
project, the successful candidate will
. Manage the Instrumentation and automation for the Synclinorium
Concentrator project in liaison with the project Team and Contractors to
deliver a fully automated state of the art Concentrator Plant.
. Assist in formulation of instrumentation and Automation
maintenance structure for the New Concentrator
. Identity local skills gaps and plan for training and
development of staff to fill the identified skills gap for the efficient, fully
automated operation of the New contractors when it comes to coordinating all
instrumentation and Automation selection, installation and execution
. Act as link between the project Team and contractors when
it comes to coordinating all instrumentation and Automation selection,
installation and execution.
Duties will, among
others, include:
. Ensure correct selection and installation of suitable
state of the art process control systems.
. Ensure correct programming and operation of process
control and instrumentation systems
. Provide for appropriate maintenance systems to ensure
optimal performance and availability of the process control and plant instrumentation
systems
. Develop a suitable plant Structure to ensure adequate
maintenance of the instrumentation and plant control systems
. Drive the health, safety and environment standards/policy
awareness and practice for project Team to ensure compliance with Company
safety guidelines
To be considered for this position, one should meet the
following minimum requirements
1. Grade Certificate or equivalent.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronica’s or instrumentation
Engineering or equivalent
3. At least five of industry experience in APC Control,
design of automated systems and variety of Communication Networks with SCADA
and PLC maintenance skills
4. Demonstrate Strategic thinking, Planning skills,
analytical skills and problem solving skills
5. Must have good verbal and written communication skills,
and able to train and motivate teams
6. Must be a Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia
