The
Health Professions Council of Zambia is a statutory regulatory body under the
Ministry of Health with both statutory obligations to regulate the registration
of health care facilities and health practitioners as well maintaining optimal
standards of competence, care and professional conduct. It was established
under the Health Professions Act No. 24 of 2009. The Health Professions Act
continues the existence of the Medical Council of Zambia which was established
under the repealed Medical and Allied Professions Act. The mission of the
Health Professions Council of Zambia is ‘to regulate professional conduct of
public and Private Health practitioners and institutions in order to assure the
provision of quality health services.
The
Council seeks applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to
fill up the following position:
Examinations
Officer – English Language
Job
Profile:
To
undertake the administration of English Language examinations to Health
Practitioners coming from non-English speaking Countries and beyond in order to
determine their competency to practice.
Main
Duties
§ Undertakes the
administration of English Language examinations to Health Practitioners coming
from non-English speaking
§ Countries and beyond in
order to determine their competency to practice undertakes effectively the
selection and supervision of examiners, invigilators and markers in order to
facilitate the conducting of Licensure examinations;
§ Undertakes timely the
registration of candidates for licensure examinations to ensure their
eligibility and facilitate mobilization of logistics;
§ Undertakes effectively the
setting, printing, transporting and securing of examination papers in to
facilitate the holding of examinations;
§ Undertakes effectively the
identification, preparation and security of examination centers in order to
meet set standards for the examinations:
§ Undertakes effectively the collation
printing and publication of results in order to notify candidates of their
performance:
§ Undertakes effectively
development of individual and departmental work plan in order to monitor and
evaluate performance;
§ Undertakes effectively the
monitoring and evaluation of the examination programmes in order to facilitate
the identification and implementation of appropriate interventions
Reporting
relationship, Knowledge and skills requirements:
§ Senior Examinations Officer
§ Bachelor of Science Degree
in Education Major in English Language
§ Full Grade 12 / Form V
School Certificate
§ Minimum of eight (08)
years’ experiences an English Teacher
§ Teaching and conducting
examinations is an added advantage
§ Goal-oriented and able to
work independently to achieve results. as well as able to collaborate with a
diverse team.
§ Excellent English language
oral and written communication skills.
§ Able to write analytical
and technical reports.
§ Computer literate and
Knowledgeable of all accounting packages
