The
Health Professions Council of Zambia is a statutory regulatory body under the
Ministry of Health with both statutory obligations to regulate the registration
of health care facilities and health practitioners as well maintaining optimal
standards of competence, care and professional conduct. It was established
under the Health Professions Act No. 24 of 2009. The Health Professions Act
continues the existence of the Medical Council of Zambia which was established
under the repealed Medical and Allied Professions Act. The mission of the
Health Professions Council of Zambia is ‘to regulate professional conduct of
public and Private Health practitioners and institutions in order to assure the
provision of quality health services.
The
Council seeks applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to
fill up the following position:

Profile:
To
undertake effectively the processing of registration for health practitioners
and issuance of practicing Certificates in order to ensure that registered
health practitioners meet the statutory
Main
duties:
§ Undertakes effectively the
processing of applications for registration of health practitioners in order to
facilitate registration of health practitioners;
§ Undertakes effectively the
issuance of annual practicing certificates of health practitioners in order to
ensure compliance to the set practice standards;
§ Undertakes effectively
entry of data on the database in order to facilitate record keeping:
§ Undertakes the preparation
or documentation in order to facilitate the issuance or licenses;
§ Undertakes effectively the
administration of monitoring and evaluation instruments in order to facilitate
data analysis.
Reporting
relationship, and skills requirements:
§ Reporting to the Senior
Registrations Officer
§ B.Sc. in Health related
Sciences or B.A Degree in Social Sciences
§ Full Grade 12/ Form V
School Certificate
§ HPCZ Full Registration
Certificate for applicant with B.Sc. in health related sciences
§ HPC7, Valid Practicing
Certificate for applicant with B.Sc. in health related sciences
§ Minimum of two (02) years
working experience
§ Computer literate
§ Ability to handle sensitive
and confidential information with integrity
§ Excellent English language
oral and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills
