Catalogue Specialist

Lumwana Mine, Solwezi, Zambia.

Reporting to: Inventory Coordinator

Lumwana Mining Company Limited (LMC), a copper mining company owned by Barrick Gold Corporation is situated in the North-Western region of Zambia, some 300 km west of the Zambian Copperbelt and 95 km south west of the provincial capital of Solwezi. The mine is a multi-pit, multi staged operation mining approximately 100MT of ore and waste per annum and producing copper concentrates containing an average of 120,000 tonnes of copper metal per year over a twenty (20) year mine life, making Lumwana the largest single open cut copper mine in Africa. The Company is now looking for an experienced and qualified individual to be considered for the position of Catalogue Specialist

Role Summary

Reporting to the Inventory Coordinator, you will be responsible to provide efficient cataloguing services and maintain Inventory Stock master so that inventory items are coded, classified and identified accordingly for Procurement, Storage and issuing.

Your duties will include but not limited to the following:

Responsibilities

§  Perform timely and efficient cataloguing and other Inventory services that strive to meet and exceed customer expectations.

§  Perform the function of adding stock lines to the Stock master in accordance with approved ANSI forms.

§  Perform data maintenance of the Inventory Master using approved documents such as ANSI/AESI forms.

§  Liaise with Procurement Officers to obtain quotations from potential suppliers before any item is added to Inventory stock master.

§  Manage cataloguing activities to comply with safe procedures, statutory regulations, company policies and ethical guidelines.

§  Resolve all cataloguing / description queries in a timely manner as per established SLA’s.

§  Assist the warehouse team with identification of items as required identify and manage Slow moving inventory with the aim of reducing potentially obsolete and surplus stocks.

§  Investigate and process approved daily discrepancies from warehouse to correct inventory items.

§  Assist warehouse team to ensure that all commodities are properly stored to prevent potential deterioration.

§  Advise the users and other supply sections on cataloguing matters.

§  Perform regular review of the stock master (catalogue) to identify duplications and correct them accordingly.

§  Perform Inventory data amendments and Maintain up to date and accurate registers of all stock master data amendments

Experience & Qualifications

§  Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.

§  Grade Twelve School certificate

§  Member of ZCIPS and Valid Practicing License

§  Minimum experience (5 years) in Supply Chain preferably in warehousing and inventory operations preferably in the mining industry.

§  Experience in the use of PRONTO or similar ERP system.

§  Strong analytical ability and demonstrated skills in Inventory Control and Management
