Applications are invited from suitably qualified and
experienced person to fill the following position at Lusaka Apex medical
University (LAMU).
A) INTERNAL AUDITOR
Major Duties and
Responsibilities
1. Develops a flexible annual audit plan using appropriate
risk-based methodology, including any risks or control concerns identified by
management, and submit that plan to the audit committee for review and
approval.
2. Implements the annual audit plan, as approved, including,
and as appropriate. Any special tasks or projects requested by management and
the audit committee.
3. Collates identified risk across all sections the
university, i.e. operational, market, legal, credit, compliance, reputational, etc.
risks, makes professional assessment of their likely occurrence and impact on
the organization, tests controls in place to manage these risks and designs
his/her work as part of the audit program to monitor and regularly report to
the audit committee on his/her assessment of such risks.
4. Establishes a quality assurance program for the
operations of internal auditing actives.
5. Performs investigations of suspected fraudulent
activities within the organization and notifies management and the audit
committee of the results.
6. Evaluates and assesses new or changing services,
processes, operations, and control processes coincident with their development,
implementation, and or expansion.
7. Issues periodic reports to the audit committee and
management summarizing results of audit activities.
8. Keeps the audit committee informed of emerging trends and
successful practices in internal auditing, and provide an annual list of
significant measurement goals and results.
Essential
Qualifications for the Position:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
2. A professional qualification such as ZICA, ACCA and CIA,
or comparable certification.
3. Five ‘O’ levels including Maths and English
4. Minimum five years of audit experience
5. Supervisory experience
6. Strong oral and written communication skills
7. Must demonstrate the highest level of integrity and
honesty
8. Must be member of ZICA
