CIVIL FOREMAN JOB DESCRIPTION
Civil Foreman shall
report directly to the Civil Engineer but also work closely with Surveyor and
Plant Supervisor
Qualifications
1. Able to communicate fluently in English.
2. Completed Secondary education, or grade 12 and
acquired technical training min craftsman certificate
3. Good sense of leadership and teamwork.
4. Able to read and interpreted drawings.
5. Able to take basic elementary measurements of
volumes, areas and distance using tape measures or any other equipment’s and
tools.
6. Working experience of 8 years minimum in a
similar capacity or higher with good performance record.
7. Competence in Civil Engineering,
construction processes, plant and equipment,
8. Extensive knowledge of the earthworks,
stabilization, drainages .and the work involved, along with survey levels
Key Responsibilities
1. Supervision and execution of all types of
earth work operations, including but not limited to roadworks, parking,
drainages, excavations and backfilling of foundations as per designs and in
line with approved method statements and drawing specifications
2. Utilizing heavy duty mechanical equipment’s
(Dozer, Grader, Scraper, Loader, Roller, Tipper Trucks, etc).
3. Ensure site personnel have job relevant
training requirements which is entered on site personnel training register
4. Monitoring utilization/performance of
company’s and hired plant/Equipment involved in the earthwork operations.
5. Determine requirement of equipment in
consultation with Plant Supervisor
6. Ensure performance as per project schedules,
budget.
7. Ensure all quality control and assurance
through soil testing, compaction testing and all other earthwork related
testing, in consultation with the Civil Engineer
8. Ensure the earthwork fill layers are done as
per the approved drawings and levels are followed correctly in consultation
with the Civil Engineer and the surveyor.
9. Implement Company requirements and legal
regulations, paying specific attention to HSE, legislation and quality.
10. Keep record to the earthwork operations
including the use of materials
11. On a daily basis shall conduct and amend risk
assessments and deliver toolbox talks/briefings
12. Co-ordinate delivery/pick up of materials as
required
