The recruiter is a leading technology services group based
in Lusaka, Zambia. Since its inception is 2007 the group has grown to be a
regional player in various technology offerings and has diversified offerings
including ERP designs and implementations, enterprise IT hardware integration,
Software services and Data Center design & optimisation. It also owns and
operates Zambia’s first Tier III carrier neutral data offering colocation
services, infrastructure as a service and software as service. The recruiter is
now looking to increase its service offerings where the business will lead the
development of various mobile applications both as Android and iOS Apps. These
app’s will be both internal apps for extended functions of the business and its
subsidiaries and will also drive development work for third party clients as
needed.
Job description: We are looking for a Senior Software
Engineer to produce and implement functional software solutions. The candidate
will work with senior management to define the various software and application
requirements and take the lead on operational and technical projects. In this
role, the candidate should be able to work independently with little
supervision.
Responsibilities:
1.
Develop high-quality software design
and architecture
2.
Identify, prioritize and execute tasks
in the software development life cycle
3.
Develop tools and applications by
producing clean, efficient code
4.
Automate tasks through appropriate
tools and scripting
5.
Review and debug code
6.
Perform validation and verification
testing
7.
Collaborate with internal teams and
vendors to fix and improve products
8.
Document development phases and monitor
systems
9.
Ensure software is up-to-date with
latest technologies
10.
Be engaged with the local and head
office teams in constant solution designs and provide recommendations to the
steering committees on product enhancements as necessary.
11.
Be responsible for the performance of
the other members of the development teams, their performance and deliverables.
Requirements:
1.
The candidate must poses excellent
organization and problem-solving skills
2.
Must have a minimum of 2 years’
experience in a team lead position
3.
MCA/BE/B.tech degree in Computer
Science, Engineering
4.
Proven experience as a Senior Software
Engineer
5.
MUST have experience in development of
Mobile App’s that have had payment integrations through extension of source
API’s from financial institutions such as Banks.
6.
MUST have experience in development of
Mobile App’s used for e-commerce purposes such as online shopping, merchant
transactions, etc.
7.
Extensive experience in software
development, scripting and project management • Experience using system
monitoring tools
8.
Must have Knowledge & Experience of
programming languages, Java, Kotlin, ObjectiveC, Swift
9.
In-depth knowledge of relational
databases (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases
10.
Must have Knowledge & Experience of
firebase api, fabric
11.
Must have knowledge and experience with
Windows and Mac OS operating systems
12.
Analytical mind with problem-solving
aptitude
13.
Ability to work independently
14.
Must have published many apps on both
Android/iOS app stores
15.
Excellent organizational and leadership
skills
