Technical Support
Job Summary
The IT Technical Support officer
will be based in Lusaka, reporting to the Head of IT Services.
A professional troubleshooter,
the individual must have the technology training necessary to diagnose,
formulate and execute the solution in a finite period of time. The individual
must be able to work unsupervised or as a team player. S/He must have the ability
to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities
of the IT Technical support among others include:
1. Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems,
printers, scanners etc
2. Ensure system backups are carried out according to company
policies.
3. Carry out daily checks on servers and notify supervisor whenever
irregularities are noticed.
4. Talking staff or clients through a series of actions, either
face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues
5. Manage websites and portals requests
6. Supporting the roll-out of new applications, testing and
maintenance.
7. Ensure that all OS and endpoint security systems are up to date.
8. Investigating, diagnosing and solving computer software and
hardware faults
9. Process user reported problems and requests; initially resolve
problems, escalate and follow-up when necessary; open and track all problems
and requests via internal helpdesk ticket system
10. Be able to work independently on a range of disparate
technologies.
11. Be able to work outside normal working hours.
12. Other tasks as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and
Experience
§
Bachelor’s degree in Computer
Science or Information Technology or related discipline
§
Experience working with Windows 7
& 10, Windows Server 2008r2, 2016; Active Directory.
§
At least 2 years’ working
experience
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE THAT
WOULD BE A BONUS
§
Experience working with WSUS, DRP
and VM solutions experience
§
Understand and formulate IT
network & infrastructure
§
Understand financial services and
or pension fund administration & management
