Zambia Sugar plc, a large agro-industry which is part of
Illovo sugar ltd, is the leading sugar producer in Zambia. Its main activities
are the growing of sugarcane, the production and marketing of sugar and other
sugar downstream products. The company has a permanent employee base of 1700
employees and offers and medical. Educational, sport, recreation and other
social facilities on the Estate in Mazabuka
The recently expanded Nakambala Sugar Mill area Comprises
approximately 28 000 hectares of irrigated sugarcane. An approximately 17 00
hectares is owned by fourteen commercial Growers and three small-scale grower entities whose
affairs are managed by the Estimated Recoverable Crystals (ERC) Committee
comprising membership from Zambia Sugar Plc. And the Growers.
The Company now invites applications from suitably qualified
persons to fill the following position
1. AGRICULTURE
ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (1)
Main responsibilities
. To provide Managerial and Technical input of the
operations of the Electrical section in irrigation, in order to meet irrigation
water demand
. To provide effective maintenance management of irrigation
electrical works in the Estate Irrigation, in pumps stations and Company
Irrigation projects.
. Controlling Manpower, Operation and Capital budgets for
the Irrigation Electrical section
. Maintaining and implementing Irrigation Electrical
Operations with the Agric team to meet the agreed Company objectives
. Supporting a cross function culture of continuous
Improvement and best practice in electrical maintenance
. Performance manage the electrical team to ensure all jobs
are done to standard on time safely and provide coaching and mentoring to
improve team performance
. Ensuring that best practices is followed in electrical
safety, legality and ensuring quality service and products
. Ensuring achievement of all performance related targets
such as Score Card performance on Safety, risk and improvements in DIFR and
TIFR
. Undertake team performance Management procedure
. Bachelor of Science or Engineering in Electrical
Engineering
. At least five years’ experience in an irrigation industry
of Which 3 years is at Senior
. Essential Knowledge of electrical engineering, Irrigation
pump and motor process, Occupational Safety and Health Act, computerized
planning systems, project Management, financial Management
. Must be a member of Engineering Institute Zambia
